As the world heals from the COVID-19 pandemic, NCIC marked the International Day of Peace on 21st September 2021 together with Uwiano partners in five counties; Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru, Marsabit and Uasin Gishu. The Commission rolled up some activities to draw attention to the objectives of the day and strengthen the relationships and collaborative strategies between state and non-state actors to enhance peacebuilding efforts during the electioneering period. These included community engagements, peace caravans, cultural performances, and sports for peace to promote public awareness, community resilience and accountability ahead of 2022. The 2021 Global Peace Day Theme was ‘Recovering Better for an Equitable and Sustainable World’.
