A team of National Cohesion and Integrated Commission lead by Dr. Rev. Samuel Kobia, alongside Commissioner Hon. Abdulaziz Farah and Dr. Danvas Makori paid homage to Hulugho and Ijara Sub­-Counties in Garissa County Following the terror attacks in early February 2020, where National Police Reservists houses were torched and one National Police Reservist lost life.

The NCIC team in partnership with the County security team led by Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Bernard Ole Kipury was hosted by Garissa Senator; Hon. Yussuf Haji engaged with member’s community and visited the families that were affected by the attacks before heading to Sangailu for a public baraza.

They agreed on a need to bring together Stakeholders working in the security areas with a focus on violent extremism and deliberate on strategies of preventing terror attacks.

Later on the NCIC team and the Leader from the area addressed the media at Wilson Airport on the status of security in Ijara Constituency. The condemned acts of intolerance and religious discrimination that’s affecting the peaceful co-existence and erode cohesion and integration amongst residents of North Eastern Kenya.
