Inter-Agency review hate speech related offences

The Commission held a two-day inter-agency retreat in Naivasha on 30th and 31st March, 2017 to take stock of the progress made so far and propose further collaborative approaches in dealing with hate speech, ethnic incitement and related offences, in the build up to 2017 general elections.
The retreat brought together NCIC staff and Commissioners, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Kenya Police Service, Media Council of Kenya, Ministry of Information, Communication and, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, Office of The Attorney General/Department of Justice and Ministry of the Interior and Coordination of National Government. The team agreed on a collaborative approach both in enforcement and public awareness campaign to ensure the forth coming general elections are peaceful.
