The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in partnership with German GIZ is conducting a three-day training in Nakuru County on Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation with the aim of strengthening of local peace Structures.

The training targets local peace structures such as the sub-county peace committees, council of elders representing the various ethnic groups, Nyumba Kumi (community policing) committees, local churches, age set chiefs, selected youth and women groups among others.

The objectives of the three-day training are to increase the awareness of participants on peacebuilding and conflict transformation, improve their knowledge in analyzing conflicts and their dynamics and to enhance their knowledge on mental health including sensitizing them on trauma related issues and psycho-social support, and how this can be used for self and community care. The training in Nakuru targets peace representatives from conflict prone sub counties, i.e. Njoro and Molo.
