Ukur Yatani, Marsabit County Governor, H.E Mohammed Mohamud Ali among other partners. The Commission in 2020 has continued to have regular engagements with several stakeholders in Marsabit County in a bid to have lasting peace. On Saturday November 28, 2020, the Commission led by Commissioner Dr. Danvas Makori and Marsabit Catholic Diocese, Bishop Peter Kihara chaired the joint Marsabit Peace Committee at the Catholic Pastoral Centre in Marsabit. The discussion centered on the current insecurity and inter-ethnic animosity between the Borana and Gabras following the killing of a young boy and a watchman. The meeting proposed to have a follow-up meeting after a week that would bring together key leaders from both sides with the hope of easing tension in the area.
