Women play a key role in enhancing peaceful coexistence in the society. Thus, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission held a two-day peace and development forum for women in Elndonyongiro and Olashapani locations in Narok South together with Narok South DCC, Mr. Felix Kisalu on November 25 and 26, 2020 at Narok South Technical Training Institute, Narok County. The first day forum brought together 27 women from Eldonyongiro location aged between 28 to 58 years. The second day brought together 25 women from Olashapani location aged between 29 and 52 years of age.

The meetings aimed at empowering women and seeking strategies women can employ to continue promoting peace in their communities.

The women appreciated NCIC and the office of DCC for the calm that the region is enjoying. They however raised several issues that could affect the peace of the region. Some of the issues raised were: alcohol abuse, community protection of sexual violence culprits, men selling land without the knowledge of their spouses, female genital mutilation among others.
