Political leaders play a crucial role in shaping the direction of peacebuilding and conflict resolution in their communities. In this regard, the Commission held a meeting on November 25, 2020 that brought together Members of Parliament and Senators from Nakuru County to deliberate on their role in promoting peace in the region. In attendance were Hon Kimani Ngunjiri- Bahati MP, Hon Martha Wangari- Gilgil MP, Hon Jayne Kihara- Naivasha MP, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, Senator Victor Prengei, Nakuru Women Rep Hon Liza Chelule among others. The Nakuru County Commissioner, Erastus Mbui who represented the security team in the region, also attended the meeting. NCIC Chairman, Rev. Dr. Samuel Kobia, Commissioner Abdulaziz Farah, Commissioner Sam Kona, Commissioner Dr. Danvas Makori and NCIC Assistant Director, Peacebuilding and Reconciliation department, Mr. Liban Guyo, represented the Commission.
