Conflict is ubiquitous in all societies and it is a phenomenon that is inevitable in all human societies as a result of differences in interests, goals, values and aims among people. Amongst many communities in Kenya, there are frameworks that are in place and are adhered to for conflict resolution and prevention of violence. In many communities, Elders provide one of the most important conflict resolution institutions in Kenyan societies organized as Council of Elders. Thus the Commission led by Commissioners Hon Abdulaziz Farah and Sam Kona held intra and intercommunity dialogues with Council of Elders from the Ogiek, Kalenjins and Kikuyu communities in Nakuru county from 17th -20th November 2020. The aim of the dialogues is to find lasting solutions to perennial violent conflicts in Njoro and Molo Sub-counties.
