On 15th September, 2020, the Commission led by Commissioner Sam Kona and Commissioner Wambui Nyutu OGW held a forum with the Garissa County Public Service Board. The objectives of the forum were to: sensitize members of County Public Service Board on the guidelines on Minimum Standards and Principles for Recruitment to ensure Inclusiveness and Diversity in the counties; to disseminate the ethnic audit; to understand the challenges and dynamics hampering inclusiveness and diversity in the County and to discuss and understand the measures the county Government would put in place to ensure inclusivity and diversity in the county.

The meeting had been organized by the Complaints, Legal and Enforcement department and ensured that the board and ensured that the County Public Service Board was trained on principles and standards they should apply when recruiting to ensure inclusivity and diversity in employment of their staff. This ensures compliance of section 7 of the NCI Act and offers equal opportunity to all ethnic groups in Kenya. This promotes harmonious and peaceful co-existence hence making Kenya a cohesive society.
