Turkana County
Turkana County is comprised of six (6) sub counties namely, Loima, Turkana West, Turkana East, Turkana South, Turkana North and Turkana Central. Amani clubs were established in Turkana County in 2017 and since then Amani schools with Amani clubs have been undertaking various peace and cohesion related activities and also brought on board more schools in the Amani club fraternity,
Amani Club Activities
Sensitization forums- Schools with Amani clubs in the county have continued to sensitize other schools in order to establish more Amani clubs in the County.
Peace debates – Schools in the county have conducted debates on peace and cohesion. The debates have provided platforms for students to discuss issues of peace, cohesion and appreciation of diversity consequently enhancing understanding and peaceful coexistence. Other key activities that the clubs have embraced are, establishing peace corners, cleaning exercises and dissemination peace and cohesion messages during assemblies. The Clubs have also developed an elaborate annual programme of peace and cohesion activities for all schools.
