Lamu County

Lamu County comprises of two (2) sub-counties namely Lamu east and Lamu West. Amani clubs were launched in 2015. The Launch was done through a procession from Lamu Boys Secondary to Mkunguni. Thereafter the founding patrons established Lamu County Schools Amani Clubs Association (LCSACA) which seeks to unite all schools in the County and at the same time promote peace and cohesion.

 

Amani Club Activities

Peace Processions- Amani clubs in the county have conducted peace processions in Lamu to create awareness about peace and cohesion and also register other schools in the Amani club movement. Other activities that the schools in the county have undertaken include, sports for peace, debates, drama, composing peace songs and poems and conducting cleaning exercises in the schools and the neighbouring communities.

  1. Schools with Amani clubs have embrace peace activities in the schools and the neighbouring communities.
  2. Amani clubs have helped establish peer mediation structures among students
  3. Amani clubs have enhanced discipline and peaceful coexistence in the schools
