West Pokot County
West Pokot County is divided into four sub-counties namely, West Pokot, North Pokot, Central Pokot and Pokot South. The Commission introduced Commission Amani clubs in the county in 2016. The first schools to embrace the clubs were Meshack Tumkou Secondary and Siyoi Mixed Secondary, however over time more patrons have been sensitized and they have established more clubs. The clubs have been conducting peace and cohesion activities in the schools and the communities around them.
Amani Club Activities
Sensitization forums- The Amani Club members in the schools in West Pokot have been conducting sensitizations of patrons and students with an aim of enrolling more schools and students as members. Schools such as Meshack Tumkou Secondary School have developed posters on academic excellence and peace and they have placed them in the school compound.
Environmental Conservation – The clubs in this county have established tree nurseries and planted trees in school compounds to improve the environment and foster a peaceful environment. Other activities that are ongoing in the county are, Essay writing, debating for peace, clean ups, and charity in initiatives for the poor and vulnerable.

Results
- Amani club members have embraced Amani club activities at the school and community levels.
- Peer mentorship in schools in the county have improved and Amani club members are involved in sensitization on peace and cohesion during school assemblies.
- Amani club members showcase peace messages within their institutions by putting up posters in their school compound with peace messages.
- Conflict incidences have greatly reduced following the introduction of Amani clubs in schools.
