Kirinyaga County

Kirinyaga County is divided into five sub counties namely, Kirinyaga East, Kirinyaga West, Mwea East, Mwea West and Kirinyaga Central. The Commission introduced Amani Clubs in the County in 2018 with the aim of promoting peaceful coexistence and cohesion in the county and in particular in the schools. Over time Amani clubs in the county have implemented various peace and cohesion related activities.

Amani club activities

Charity- The Amani club members in the County have helped the poor and vulnerable in the community and in the school through charity programmes. These programmes have promoted harmony and a sense of inclusion in the schools.

Music and art- Amani club members in various schools in the County engaged in drama, music and creative arts as one of way of popularizing the Amani clubs and promoting peaceful coexistence among the teachers and the student fraternity. Other notable activities undertaken in the County include, tree planting and cleaning exercises.
