Civic Education and Advocacy Department

Public Education and Advocacy functional area coordinates outreach and the dissemination of information to the general public through education and public awareness campaigns and other forums with a view to promote public participation, policy reform and encourage behavior change.
This functional area is responsible for the development and implementation of programmes and activities that create public awareness, support and advancement of national cohesion and integration in liaison with other stakeholders.  Public Education and Advocacy also coordinates and/or supports a series of capacity and skills building programmes for key stakeholders through trainings.
The Public Education and Advocacy functional area spearheads policy influence, capacity development and community dialogue. It coordinates and supports specific advocacy campaigns, using various advocacy techniques to push different target groups to deliver on specific advocacy action points.
The Civic Education and Advocacy Department is headed by an Assistant Director, who is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Department. The Assistant Director is assisted by Senior Programme Officers, Project Officers and Project Assistants.
