COLLABORATION BETWEEN NCIC AND NYBA
National Cohesion and Integration Commission and the USAID funded Kenyan largest youth organization – National Youth Bunge Association (NYBA) shall be signing a memorandum of understanding next week on Monday 14th January 2013. Kenyan Youth from the grassroots created the NYBA as a truly democraticentity controlled fully by them. Working alongside the Government of Kenya and partners, theNYBA strives to economically empower youth and advocate youth needs. It has become important for NCIC to collaborate with the association and engage in a number of activities aimed at promoting tolerance, understanding and acceptance of diversity in all aspects of national life and encourage full participation by all ethnic communities in social economic, cultural and political life of other communities. NYBA strives to economically empower youth and advocate. The NYBA also works with Mercy Corps, CLUSA in Coast, Inuka in Nairobi, World vision in Nyanza ,Winrock in Western and Mercy corps in Rift Valley and Central provinces. The partners aim to assist the youth to mobilize and manage their village and county bunges successfully and to build their capacity to run these institutions and their projects. Objectives 1. The Parties’ Main Objective under this MoU is to establish a long-term relationship for purposes of promoting tolerance, understanding and acceptance of diversity in all aspects of national life and encourage full participation by all ethnic communities in the social economic cultural and political life of the communities. 2. In furtherance of the Main Objective each Party shall provide such staff support, institutional services and materials as may be necessary for the implementation and achievement of the Main Objective. During the signing of the memorandum, which shall also be the launch of the collaboration, the following activities are shall take place:
The launch shall be presided over by the NCIC commissioners, Chairman of NCIC, dignitaries from USAID, officials from NYBA, and community members from Mathare. The event shall take place on 14th January, 2013 at Kiboro field near Kiboro Primary School in Mathare. The event shall commence at 8.30am. Your attendance shall be highly appreciated.
