The National Cohesion and Integration Commission has launched the complaints portal, complaints.cohesion.or.ke. The portal is expected to ease the process for Kenyans to lodge crimes/complaints under the NCI Act 2008. It is also expected to enhance the Commission’s ability to perform its mandate under the Act. The website provides a consistent and an optimized experience to new users, through its compatibility with all the common web browsers, taking just a few seconds to load.

The portal has a well-planned information architecture making it easy for users to either skim through, or to get detailed information. Every element on the page is user friendly, with a clear guideline on the types of complaints and the process of lodging a complaint. The portal is aesthetically pleasing, with all the literature and illustrations branded to fit the Commission’s culture. This provides users with an opportunity to either report crimes anonymously or non-anonymously. Each type of complaint is contextualized and analyzed in a drop-down menu, with detailed information from the NCI Act, 2008.

The portal provides Kenyans with a simplified user experience, with unique Commission identifiers and customizations. All the elements of the site work seamlessly and accurately.

Through the information collected, the Commission, can keep track of the number of people who visited the site, the kind of complaints they lodged and whether they left their details or not, enhancing efficiency.

The platform is web based enabling users to access it from anywhere at any time through personal computers, tablets and mobile phones. The complaints portal has all the crucial NCIC contact information, for users to seek further clarification.
